HOW TO APPLY for a volunteer :.
|
It
may look too complicated or even impossible to you to apply
and be part of all that !? Leave the hesitation behind, sit
and simply call or write us. We are team of motivated people
willing to work with young people like you and support the volunteerism.
Here
you can download the BYCO
Booklet. It contains detailed information about the project,
the volunteers, the groups, etc.
In the next lines we will introduce the few simple steps which
should be taken in order to become a volunteer in the BYCo network.
.:
Shortly it looks like that :.
1.
Finding sending organization (SO) in your own country.
2. Determine on concrete host organization (HO).
Find
them here
3. Applying to the chosen HO to host
the volunteer .
4. Arranging the necessary documents. Find
them here
5. Start of the voluntary year.
*Five main steps to be followed!
Please, read the information below about this process, because
there are important details on which depends the smooth process
of the preparation and applying.
.:
The details :.
1.
Finding SO in your own country.
This is an obligation set up in the program YOUTH. Every
exchange of an EVS volunteer has three main elements:
- SENDING ORGANIZATION,
- VOLUNTEER,
- HOST ORGANIZATION
The sending organization in this case should be the BYCo member
organization (or one of the member organizations) in your country.
It is individual what exactly are the criteria's of each SO, so
the best would be to contact them and make everything clear in
advance. Contact details of the organizations are available on
the link Organisations
( in case you miss something, please call us!). The SO is responsible
to submit the application forms and proceed it.
Important is to know and think about the preparation period. It
must happen before the start of the voluntary year, and cover
the relevant needs of the future cooperative work. It could be
language or improving skills course, preliminary meetings to inform
the volunteer for specific issues, training on specific computer
programs and so on. The meaning of it is to prepare the young
volunteer as good as possible for the future work.
2.
Determine on concrete host organization (HO).
List of all host organizations is available on the link MEMBER
ORGANIZATIONS. Please find there the needed contact information
and if you are not able, please let us know!!! Read the descriptions
of the HO and think about where would be "your place".
3. Applying to the chosen HO to host
the volunteer .
Each application should be directed to a concrete host organization
-which is to say that each motivation
letter (covering letter) is valid for single organization.
As every HO organization is with individual infra structure, style
of work and projects it is necessary to understand that the character
of the application forms should be also individual. They should
be written according to needs and condition of the three "elements".
This is a process of co-operative work in which all sides are
equal and fair. As a final result should appear clearness, if
this cooperation would happen; clearness about the expectations
of all sides, clearness about the future, joint work.
4. Arranging the necessary documents:
( Download them from HERE
)
This is not too complicated but obligated process which
should be arranged by the four sides taking a part in each voluntary
exchange, before the start of the voluntary year.
The four sides are sending organization, host organization, volunteer
and coordinating organization.
There are four documents which should be filled, signed and sent
to the necessary places at the right time (definitely before the
beginning of the voluntary service):
1. Preliminary project agreement
2. Partnership agreement
3. Identification of the volunteers
4. AXA- enrollment form ( the health insurance)
Please take the time to read them in advance so that there are
not complications later. For detailed information about the documents
you may ask the SO or the Co-ordination team of BYCo.
5.
Start of the voluntary year.
The starting date of the voluntary service is 01.09.2003. At this
time the documents should be ready and volunteer is supposed to
be in the hosting country. The time of the voluntary year is 12
months, the time for holidays is 26 working days.
